How Much Lift for 35s?

I have a '96 12v LB extended cab 4x4. I'm currently running 305/70/16s with no rubbing at all. These tires are in need of replacement, and I would like to go with either 315/75/16s, or 325/65/18s (depending on my budget). I know that neither will fit my truck w/o a lift (I test fit a 325/70/16 before I bought the 305s, and it hit the rear of the wheelwell). I would rather not lift my truck more than I have to to clear the 35s. I know Superlift makes a 2 1/2" and a 4 1/2" lift. Would the 2 1/2" lift clear the tires?

You might try a 2" leveling kit. I ran 33"s without it and didn't rub. I now have the 2" leveling kit on and there is plenty of room for 35"s.

That would certainly be less expensive. Thanks.

2" leveling kit is all you need. 4 inches is plenty for 37's.

Not sure of any differences between 96 or 99, but my 99 with a 2" level on front does not clear 35"s. They hit pretty bad until i took out the angle grinder and made love to the fender.

I run 35s with no lift on stock dodge wheels pics in sig.
It rubs on the lower control arm just a little when turned all the way other than that they are fine.

4" skyjacker w/315/17 BFGs & H2 wheels....no probs.
whatever lift you decide go w/Bilstein shocks....you won't be disappointed.

I run 315's with just a 2" lift on stock rims not even close to rubbing the wheel well
But it does rub the lower control arms when making hard turns

It looks like there is a ton of room in the wheelwell for larger tires, but the 305s do get pretty close to the inside fenderwell. I'm not running stock wheels so the extra offset may be causing a little extra swing.

I may try to find a stock wheel and try to fit a 315 first, but if that hits I will probably go with the 2 1/2" Skyjacker kit with new rear springs. The truck used to have a fifth wheel, and regularly pulled a horse trailer, so it sits completely level right now. I'm afraid if I use a leveling kit I will put the nose too high in the air.
