How much HP does my K&N and 4" exhaust
#16
Depending on where you read or who you talk to, back pressure would be often considered the pressure immediately downstream of the turbo in the exhaust pipe. The pressure in the exhaust manifold and upstream of the turbo would be called drive pressure.

A few words on that K&N...
I ran a K&N large cone filter for a few years, kept up the maintenace on it too. But, last summer I noticed fine black dust in my intake tube and all around the turbo fins. I cleaned and re-oiled the K&N and sort of forgot about it until last weekend when changing my oil filter. I removed the intake tube to get at the oil filter and wow the black dust was real thick again.
The K&N is now GONE! Never again!
I went with a BHAF and a Outerware filter cover. I just made the heat shield from the template on a page at Cummins Forum. Here's a LINK.
I paid $35 for the filter and $30 for the Outerware cover, that's less than what I paid for the K&N.
I had to call two friends that I recommended the K&N to, to tell them to check theirs out and get rid of it if they find what I did.
Just a heads up.

I printed it out, taped it together, cut the outline and then layed it on the stainless I used and then used spray paint along the edge to mark it. After the paint dried I cut it and made the one bend over the edge of my work bench. It fit perfectly.
