Cool how much H.P. can it take

how much H.P. can a 2002 Ram with 5spd take before upgrading drivetrain. Clutches, trannys, etc. I ask because I added the ez-edge (65 H.P.) and am thinking about the 275 injectors. I just wondering how far I can take it before the more expensive upgades.

I ran a tapped Comp box for 8 months. I then added some Mach2s(105hp) along with Comp and it still held for 4 more months. I then swapped those out for Mach4s which I ran for about 3 months. In that time I drag raced it, ran it on 5x5 several times and drove it daily on 3x5. The one thing I tried to minimize was laying into it hard below 1800rpm. The truck put down 514hp a few weeks ago so that should give you an idea. I swapped out the stock clutch for a SB FE and at that point the stock clutch was still holding and looked fine. Not to say everyone will have the same luck but if you don't abuse your truck, they will take a lot. My question is how much will the input shaft take on an NV4500 before going boom?

I've heard of them snapping anywhere from ~400rwhp on up.

My truck with just a TST PowerMax 3 would slip the clutch in mine if you hammered into it below about 1500 or 1600 RPM. If you feathered it past 2000 you could get into it hard with no problem. I switched to the South Bend Con FE only to find out that the clutch that I had in it was a South Bend Con-O. Also come to find out why I was slipping it..... three or four of the bolts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel were finger loose. It's like duke1n said, it's different from truck to truck, but more importantly... driver to driver.

All the (real) clutch suppliers sell them. Haisley, Schied, SouthBend, etc. I have a Haisley input shaft that was sourced through Peter @ SouthBend.

You can upgrade to the 1 3/8 like the 6 speed to the tune of $800-$1000. Mine is doing pretty well at 350 800+. Not great, if I slip it in and heat it up she is all done but empty and not slipping it she hooks up some how lol.
They are all different, just when it slips let of the pedal ASAP as once you slip it bad a couple times its a downward slope.

Going with a OFE or FE soon though I want to move the plate forward
