How much do you use your exhaust brake?
I read from someone that they use their exhaust brake a least once every drive to keep it working and lower carbon build up. Is this necesary? I do a lot of aroud town driving that make having it on is a pain plus it adds to cool down time. How often does anyone use their e-brake? I like this feature a lot but if I have to baby it then I can see where it could get old quick. Thank for any info.

I'm pretty sure that everyone that chimes in here will say they use their's everyday. That's usually the standard of the members who own brakes. I wish I had one I'd use it everyday, and I could have used it yesterday when that 25FT'r brake box didn't work : Oh well at least it wasn't loaded!

I use mine everyday even in town runnin empty.
It's no prob to push a switch to turn it off when I stop somewhere.
The benifits outweigh the probs by far

I use mine all the time pulling a trailer and running empty. It is great in city traffic and driving on country roads.
The only time I turn mine off is when I am cruising down the interstate and don't want it to slow me down on downhills.
FWIW Randy

My US GEAR 4" brake tests itself everytime I start up...two times on and off.
I was pressing the switch to stop the test for a long time and then I was informed that its important for the testing to be done to ensure proper operation and movement.

So now I just let it do its test cycle. I also use it on the highway quite often empty or towing.
I rarely use it in slow traffic.

It was handy to have for warm-ups this past winter.
