I'm guessing your wastegate is NOT functional. It must be stuck closed unless you have mods not revealed. You should find it difficult to surpass 22 psi. What was your EGT?

i dont know didn't look i saw the boost get so high that i backed out in fear of blowing a head gasket. How do i go about fixing my wastegate....i dont have a tranny yet so i really dont want to get much more unuseable power. what about a banks big head? How hard is one to install?

even with stock sticks, that 100 will provide enough drive energy to overspeed the turbo depending on where you have it adjusted to in the pump. Being that the wastegate only bypasses the back 3 holes, the front 3 can drive the turbo into overspeed by themselves even with the gate wide open on the latter 3. Perform the turbine housing mod to gate al;l 6 and your imediate problems will go away. Don't push an HX35 past 38 psi, and really 35 is about the limits for the efficiency map and more importantly the rpm.

You remove the turbo, unbolt the exhaust outlet cover, then open the waste gate and you will see a hole, this "vents" the back three cylinders, drill through the divider to vent all six. With the turbo off the truck you will see what we are talking about.

If all you can achieve is 30 lbs with those 370's and a #100 with the 'gate disabled, you have a problem somewhere. With my little pump if I disable the 'gate I can overspeed it to near 50...I did it once accidentally because I neglected to tighten a clamp on the actuator line.

Yeah, don't take the stocker over 35-38psi...even though my stocker lasted a long while at 45psi+ and when she finally let go, I was making 52psi on hard runs

POS left me stranded in Chattanooga(sp?), though
