how to make big power?
I've been thinking about buying a 94 12v, probably an auto. How would i make the big numbers in hp, say over 500-600 or more. what kind of money would i have to spend on the rig to get there.

Well I would invest in the tranny before you get into power. The stock auto tranny won't hold much, that's the one place to spend the most money if you want big power. After that it's more are and more fuel. There are a bucnh of ways to run big power. But to get into the numbers your talking, I would look into runnin twins! Try this link and take a look. They have prices on everything you would need for the engine.

get ur tranny beefed.....there is no stock auto tranny out there that can handle 600hp i dont even think the heavy duty allisons in cement trucks can handle that for long...
then u need MORE FUEL!! thats pretty much it
and then methods to control ur EGTs bigger housing..larger exhaust...better cooling system the usual stuff
if u get a #10 plate slide her fully forward with some mach 1 injectors u'll be up there at 450hp already

With a 94 Auto the pump is the limiting factor. The 160 pump would need to be changed out. You will not get 450 out of a #10 plate and Mach 1 injectors. Do they even make mach 1's for the 12V's?

These are in no order of any kind.
Upgrade your 03 it will be much cheaper then buying a 94 and adding hp.
