Is that a question or are you telling us it has been taped for 35K?

Yes, I have a 2002 drw with 35,ooo miles on a tapped wire. I also had a 99 srw with 9,000 miles stock with the V.P. go out of it. I truley think it is luck of the draw.

Tapped mine last Sunday and having problems all week, i know it is the pump but am in denile. Had my brother in law scan codes and then clear all of them so i have a clean slate.
I found a good article on the Blue Chip Diesel site about the VP44
here it is.
http://www.bluechipdiesel.com/inject...pfailures.html
pretty interesting reading.
Is Blue chip the only one that makes the cover?

Taped mine around 55000, and just turned 80000. had a big scare this week, but as luck would turn out it was just the TPS. comp unplugged for the time being going to put in room mates truck and get him the bombing fever. but i hope to make it over 100 grand so if it does **** the bed. i won't feel as bad about paying for the VP. Here's another question, you who have the VP die did you get warranty work even with wire tapped, making look like it wasn't? just curious to see.

Do we have any information on how long the HR VP44 last (with wire tapped)? I will be purchasing a new pump next week. Just wondering if it is worth the extra money.

Regards,
Gene
