How long has your Vp lasted since you tapped it
There is a thread about VP life in the 24v section, but what I want to know is how many miles have you put on your VP since it has been tapped with a comp or drag comp?
Mine lasted less then 2k miles once tapped
so whatcha got??

I had the first one go in about half a mile
the second went in 8k
I think the Comp should be called "KILL YOUR VP"
I wonder about the other wire tap boxes?

I tapped mine @ 40k, Vp was replaced @ 55k, re-tapped instantly, I have 68k on the truck now. FASS was installed 3 weeks after Vp and Lp was replaced only cause new Lp started to die.

I tapped mine at 4400 miles , it went to 66,000 before it set the death code-0216- and ran until 72,000 or so before I had enough of the poor performance. I bought a Blue Chip VP and have been real happy about it.
I'm about to tap it with a pump cover and add a PM 3.
That should get me near 500 hp if I get enough air to it. Next plan is twins.

Mine made 85000 with the wire splice for my JVD torque enhancer. I believe I killed mine though, I accidentally touched the hot wire to a injector line while trying to keep the same from happening. It was fun while it lasted

Mine was taped from day one, as in 15 miles from the dealer. One LP replaced under warranty and still got 105K on the original VP when the second LP craped out and starved the VP.
So new VP and FASS installed and taped the wire before I turned the key.
Now have 15K on the new one.
I'm a beliver it's not the taped wire that kills the VP it's the lack of fuel supply that kills em. Do a search there was a thread a while back on this very subject and the end result was it's not the tap it's the poor fuel flow.

well, I run a bd pusher pump and get 22 psi cruising and around 18psi floored and my very first 5x5 run on a VP that was 2 months old (reman from bosch) died. I am hoping it was just a bad VP because it surely had enough pressure and I relate it to the comp becaue it worked perfect untill I did the 5x5 run

I can prove both my failures had nothing to do with the lack of fuel supply of fuel quality!! Sure it will probably contribute to a shorter life but.....
Say what you want and make yourself believe what you want the VP44 is junk and will bite you JMHO

you'll get no agruments from me on the VP being a piece of crap. I'm just pointing out my results.
How can you "Prove" your failures had nothing to do with fuel flow or lack of?
I said nothing about the quality of fuel only that the lack of fuel will allow them to overheat and just plain starve a already pushed pump.
(edit) I didnt mean for that to sound like a chalange, just curious how you are so sure it wasnt a fuel or lack of related failuer.
