I have heard of people runnin as long as a year or more, and some a week or less. Do you get the dead peddle also? Do you stay close to home? or do you traval alot. that would have alot to do with changing it out, with me.

13 months(FASS assisted)... I first noticed the code in April(04) when I installed my FASS, first dead pedal was in August(04) and was intermittant throughout the winter, dead pedal became faily consistent in March(05)... after that, I really started noticing things.... truck would try and die when letting out the clutch from a stop, extended periods of dead pedal and couldn't use cruise control(would lose 10mph on any upward grade change)... VP-44 finally gave it up for good in mid-May(05)

I had that code for over a year. Only got dead pedal 7-8 times during that period. Then the truck would have a hard start when it was warmed up, other than that it ran fine. no noticable loss of power. My pump didnt die either, I had it replaced before it died.

I see them all the time in the summer when the temp goes stupid here (120+). Often no drivability issues.
