Upgrade your fuel system (FASS, Airdog, Holley, etc), some 150hp injectors (Mach 4's, DDP's, etc.) and a turbo (62/71, GT3788R, Turbonetics of some sort), and a clutch should get you there(Southbend, Valair). Easy 400hp for sure. Your HO pump might hold you back when approaching 500hp, so you might want to get an SO pump if want to go beyond that.

Tate has a pretty good list there for you. I would put a fuel system on there first, fass, walbro, airdog system. Second i would put a clutch on, call peter at southbend and he will set you up right. Then you can get some stage 4,150s or stage 5s, 200hp injector from f1 or ddp. Next you will need a turbo, a 62/71/14 or 62/74/14, or if you dont tow or haul any heavy wieght look at 64/71/14 from htt or II. Then you can get a smarty to stack with the juice. After all that someday the vp44 will quit on you and you can buy an so vp44 and you will have a nice 550hp setup.

I agree with the posts above,
1. Gauges- fuel pressure, pyro, boost and a upgraded lift pump ( fass, air dog, ppe, holiy blue)
2. Cold air intake
3. 4"-5" performance exhaust from turbo back, muffeler optional
4. A south bend clutch
5. Hot unlock for the edge
6. Mach 4- Mach 5 injectors
7. Twin turbos and arp head studs ( if your boost gets more then 40psi with which ever turbo you go with, you need head studs)
8. Smarty stack
9. SO injection pump when HO gives out
10. Water/methan injection
11. Traction bars
12. F1 cam
13. Port and polish head
14. This one should be close to the top but switch over to full synthetic fulids in ever cavity.
As you will find out once you catch the power bug you can't stop and the list will go on and on. Not sure how much hp this setup will give you but you will be able to choke the mustangs with your smoke. Oh and just because you are rolling out the smoke doesn't mean you have power. While it is fun, it is a waste of fuel and power from lack of air. A diesel that is tuned right should only smoke alittle during turbo lag.

A fuel system, injectors, clutch, and turbo are all you need for 400-500hp, but all the other stuff helps too. Do an exhaust with the turbo so you don't have to swap downpipes twice.

Your juice will stack nice with a smarty and you can get the hot unlock on your juice for the most out of it. The new hot thing is quad ADR / pulse it will have all of your gauges and will give you more hp. It has custom tuning high idle turbo timer among many other. A lot of people are running it and love it and some stack it with a smarty as well. So if you are happy with what you have stack a smarty with it. If not then sell it and get the ADR/pulse box for max power.

Get the hot unlock for the edge and you'll be competitive with any stacks of chips out there as far as dyno power goes. Smarty is great for a lot of things, but at the point you're at you need fuel more than anything =P That's why I said fuel system and injectors- more fuel in and fuel out
