how fast does your truck go?

i wanted to see what my truck would top out at or where the governor would kick in at and i got my truck up to 120 mph pretty quick where the speedometer topped out at and was at about 2800 rpm i red line at 3300 rpm and then gave it more fuel and the thing kept going faster and faster i don't know how fast i was going since the speedometer stops at 120 mph but i know i was going way faster than that because when i pushed the pedal down further to give it more fuel the truck still had allot of pull to it I'm guessing around 125 -130ish i stopped around 3000 rpm i didn't want to chance hurting my tuck. are these truck governed and if so what are they set at.

Wow must have some rear end gears that are like 3.00 or something with an extra OD unit on the side!

I know its not a 2nd Gen but ive had her to 129mph verified by gps, I out ran a 05 poniac grand prix GT. It had a speed limiter and I dont. It was shaken pretty darn bad so I let out of it, thought the weels were gona fly off. Still had more to go. Didnt look at the tach , i was to busy watching the road. But it still had more to go. My speedo is only registered at 100mph. This was with 33's and 3.55's.

Dunno. The steering, suspension and brakes on my truck are all shot so I'm scared to take it up to anything over 75. I'm pretty much fighting the truck anytime I'm on the highway. However, I had it up to 90 once and it felt like it was defueling and I thought it was gonna fly apart. Thats with 3.55's and 285/75R16's. Guess it's time to part my bike out and put some serious money into the truck...

Are you sure you had the speedometer pegged? I don't see any aftermarket fuel/timing/programmers and stock trucks start backing out the fuel at 2700RPM. It will spin to 3000RPM, but will not put more power to the ground.

Either way, The fastest I've taken mine was early in its life to about 110mph. I can easily surmount that now, but what's the point? Especially on public roads. I'm too responsible and valuable to be wiped out in a split second for speed. Darned wisdom getting the best of me!!!
