how far does the lever travel up the plate?

thats the stock plate...hot far does the actual lever travel up the plate? the whole way?? then i have a stepped plate where there's massive defueling in the middle and then refueling
if it goes to just the first step then technically i have a flat plate?
i was always curious about the stock plate...its an odd shape
ps what if that step was ground off??

1/2 inch? ...interesting...thats half the height of the plate...so if im definitely hitting a defuel point earlier than i need to be with a stock plate huh...but i have a flat bottom end
