Exclamation How Far Do I Go? (newbie)

I just recently bought an 01 24V Cummins Auto. I just put on an intake and a magnaflow exhaust, (but got rid of the muffler). So my question is: What mods do I dare put on before I have to worry about my tranny slipping? and what mods can I add to my transmission to beef it up? I know there is alot of questions, but if you could please help me, i'd appreciate it. Thanks

First thing would be gauges. Fuel pressure and pyro, at min.

After that, a Smarty, or something like an Edge EZ and RV275 injectors combo would take you near the stock tranny limits. A wire tapping box like the Edge comp, Juice, or TST will put you over what your tranny will probably take. Something like the Edge Juice would probably be a good thing to have, get your gauges, run it un tapped until you get your tranny beefed up, then tap that wire and have some fun.

You can upgrade the valvebody and torque convertor in your tranny and that will help it last a lot longer, especially if you don't plan on a lot of power in the end. But plans do change. And those two mods will make it feel like it has more power, due to the tranny being more efficent.

Welcome to DTR!

Tate's got it right!
Smarty or an Edge EZ is all she'll take... and then, only if your tranny is healthy.

Add a DTT Valve body and you can run either with impunity... maybe even add some reasonable injectors.

http://www.madselectronics.com/products.html .... Smarty is my choice over EZ
http://www.dieseltrans.com/ .... Sp w/ Stephen for honest advise.
http://www.f1diesel.com/injectors24.html ... Mach 1.6's max w/o full rebuild on tranny.
Good Luck!
