How do you race your 5-speed?

I was wondering how you guys race your 5-speeds. I am needing some techniques like what gear to take off in, and shifting. I have heard of some guys that never let off the gas pedal when they shift. What is the best way to drag race a five-speed in our trucks? Thanks

01 smoker, Are you running your stock clutch with the drag comp and 150hp sticks?, I still running my stocker with the 100hp stick and ez, but really want to upgrade to a comp or drag comp.

Yeah I'm still runnin the stocker, but I need to get a dual disk as mine is just starting to slip a little. I would definetely get a drag comp, you will love it. Your stock clutch will last a while like mine has depending on how much you run it hard. I rarely run mine hard until the other night when I raced an SRT-4 and I had my drag comp on 5x5 and it started to slip a little. I also need a bigger charger as it smokes heavily and gets pretty toasty pretty quick.

I used to play with my 95, take off in second, then power shift the rest (don't let off fuel, tap the clutch and slam the next gear). Never had a problem, shifts pretty nice considering.

Good luck, RR
