I just installed my mods and am currently sorting through a boost leak problem but after talking to a few people about it I don't think that my smoke problem will ever get fixed to my standards while running the bully dogs. So, I know that alot of you are running EDMs and I was wondering if any of you had any personal experience compareing them to the BD's. Anyone with DD's at the 80 horse level please feel free to speak up as well. Thanks in advance.

I got some EDM's from J.R. Adkins and I cannot say enough great things about them. In-freaking-credible! ;D

I have Don M's EDM's a member here can be reached Via PM under the name Don M.

I had DD2's and switched out for EDM's Don has sent me a couple different sets to tweak it just to my liking. Don's 2's that I just sent back had no smoke with my comp on 5 the only time they would smoke was heavy throttle in an off boost condidtion. Other then that they would barley puff at all any time. I now have a larger EDM and they will smoke more but way less to a compariable honed injector.

Thanks for the replys. My problem is my in town smoke is ridiculous even when I just baby it. I mean to gain any speed I fog out the street on 1X1! This is way too much and I wonder if the EDMs or DDII's for that matter will make that much difference. I also have a problem with my PDR 40. after the install I can hardly even spool it up around town and the most boost I see at WOT is no more than 26 psi. I know that I've got a boost leak to find but I'm very disapointed in the new charger to say the least. I would appriciate any in put about the in town manners of the 40 from anyone running a setup like mine.

 

Sounds like fixing that boost leak will solve all your problems. Even a small leak will make your truck smoke like mad and since you can only hit 26psi you must have a bad one. Fix the leak and you will be nothing but smiles.

 

I agree with battering ram. Fix that leak and I'll bet all your smoke and boost issues go away. Stage 2's don't smoke as much as you are saying your's are.

 

What are EDM's? They are not in the Abbreviations list. JOhn CTD NEWBIE

yes, definately get the boost leak fixed. BD2's aren't that big. however, especially when getting to the much bigger bully dog injectors, they don't atomize well like DD's or EDM's do.

Is there anyone out there that has the BDII's and then then the DDII's or 80 horse EDM's. How big was the difference?

 

Gator I did and I have a PDR 40 right now. I had honed 2's then EDM 2's power is substantially more and smoke is less. Way Less. I believe Don M has a mach 1 or a 1.5 that is more powerful then a DD2 and smokes nothing at all unless floored from a stop. I had them in my truck as well.

As for the 40 if its brand new its really laggy to me to but once its borken in it rips prettu good. If you are slipping your tranny then you will not be seeing huge boost either. I was slipping before DTT and was hitting like 26 PSI like you say now I hit 40 in second gear. You may want to install the boost elbow that comes with a Comp box into your 40 to gain the added boost I did with the honed injectors but with the bigger EDM's Im running now I had to take it out.
