Hotrod VP44 and surging...

Since a lot of ppl on here are having this surging issue I was wandering what kind of pumps everyone is running. I have a SCHEID hotrod vp44 and have had the surging since minute one of having it installed. Anyone running Scheid pumps? or is it just all the vp44 pumps out there?

I think its luck of the draw. Mine was an II unit, but there are guys out there running the same pump I was, and bought them around the same time I did, that had no issues.

Describe your surging for me. Mine did that without a hotrod pump and it was the pickup tube. The tube had a pin hole and would suck air.

Mine was light throttle and a bit of rpm (around 1300-1700), would fuel then cut back, fuel, then cut back. Did that ever since the HRVP was installed. Also never fuelly defueled when coasting. Replaced APPS, no change. I went from stock pickup to the Vulcan draw straw, no change. Big line from filter to pump, no change. Went from VP44 to P7100, suddenly went away. I think I found the problem.

Mine surges when I'm slowing down after I've been in stop and go traffic. It starts really loping when I slow down at a redlight. Also ever since I've had my HRVP it has been hard to start on warmer mornings and not so hard on colder mornings, strange huh!!

Mine surges only when it's below 40 degrees outside, at partial load (18-25psi) and in 6th gear. Stock VP-44 (4th one)
