Hot Rod VP44!!!!

Well it looks like my IP just went south and im in need of a new one.

So i just wanted some opinions on the Hot rod pumps, and i git a few questions.

1. will these pumps last longer then the regular injection pumps?
2. will the pumps add horse power?
3. how many types of hot rod pumps are there?
4. which one is best for what i have got?
5. what is the warranty situation with these pumps?

Any information will help alot

It depends on what the truck dynos now. Since you have the SO pump, the peak numbers obtainable wont change with big inejctors and a wire tap box. Without a tap, it will run stronger.

What does it dyno now?

well the funny thing is, the vp44 went out on the way to the dyno. But do u think i should keep the box, or scrap it and use the pump and a chip that plugs into the data port. Im just thinking that if the box adds 120 and the HR pump adds 60-100, but its one or the other, im goin with the pump and screw the wire tap, ill take my chances with the 60-100 rather then get an extra 50hp from the box and risk another **** pump. Am i thinking right or am i missing something.

I would keep the box, your VP was dieing anyways. It was probably on it way out anyways. Yes the box will/may reduce your VP pump life, so does low fuel pressure, how often you change your fuel filter, what setting you run your box on, and so on.... Thank goodness it’s only a 3hr change out and she's back running. To me it’s just like doing a vehicle servicing. You get a year warranty on the pump so why not abuse it. I hate sending back good useable cores anyways.
