Hot Rod VP? and clutch recomendations

Well, I put my hot rod vp in on friday, with my smarty and mach 1.6's its more than my feeble clutch can handle. This is my daily driver and occasional tow vehicle. South bend is the way I'm going, which one is the question. Truck is an ealy 6 speed with the 1.25" input shaft.

I understand that the hot rod vp may lope at idle, not a problem doesn't bother me. Idle is alittle higher around 900 rpms. When I come up to a stop and push the clutch in it will idle up to around 1000 rpms for alittle bit and then drop back to 900. Again not a problem just wondering what could be causing it.

Thanks,
Mike

Con OFE would work great for you. Just got mine put in a week ago and it is starting to break in well. Little grabby at first but you get you to it and them more I drive it the more it goes away.

Peter said 450+ without a problem. Couple guys have around 600 and its still holding

I have the lopey idle. I usually have a higher idle.

Also, when my engine is cold I will coast down my driveway in gear. At the bottom of the hill I push the clutch in. The engine sounds as if it's hunting for an idle speed. It sounds as if I were tapping the throttle. Then it calms down.

I've just learned to ignore it all. The truck makes good power, so .........

I'd go with the MU 13-1.25 Con OFE. This will give you a clutch that will easily hold your power at the same time have extremely good driving manors.

You'll love the clutch. It drives like a stock clutch, except it holds the power!

Have fun dropping the 6sp!

Can't be much worse than dropping a 47RH with that big NP205 hooked to the back of it trying to pull it off the trans jack.

No doubt, they always come out easier than they go back together.

Sweet, Doug already knows my ambitious plan for the weekend (maybe too ambitious). I'm planning on swapping the torque converter and valve body in my 93 and I'm going to make an attempt on the clutch. That NV5600 looks bigger everytime I look at it.
