Either the ottomind's pyro isn't reading correctly or you have a boost leak.

Have you checked to see if your e-brake is stuck shut partially? That would cause a good restriction in the exhaust.

I have the same problem with mine. I was thinking it was my injectors that were causing the heat, but maybe not. I never thought about checking my exhaust brake to see if it is not opening all the way.

Do a search for BHAF, its cheap and might help. Most of the aftermarket filters can be bought by themselves as replacement filters if you wanted to make your own heat shield. You don't really need a bigger filter, but it might help with the temps.

If your exhaust brake checks out and you're positive you don't have any boost leaks, you might want to look at the EGT gauge itself. Not sure what gauge you run, but I had problems with my Isspro one time which read high.

I need to find something out with my pickup to. If i turn both of my chips up i can get it to peak out at 1650 for a second then i just back off. Im pushing about 45-50lbs of boost. Need to figure something out because i have a dyno day coming up soon and dont want to melt anything down.
