Yeah, I have looked at that plug. Its just so much bigger than my sensor, that I figured if I was supposed to use it, they would have sent the proper fitting for that location...so I was trying to go with something that looked
"plug and play"
I know they have supplied this gauge setup to lots and lots of 98 12vrs...

you can get a pipe bushing at any hardware store if you end up going that route

thanks,
I finally found a picture that showed it just like on my truck; one of the parts they sent I didn't need, the sensor fit just right (when it was the right spot)
I installed it but haven't driven the truck yet. I do a little here and there,
not driving the truck often so am looking forward to seeing what I have in boost and fuel. I can say that with engine stock, there's no problem with my egt's...
now once I see what my baseline numbers are, truck won't be staying stock!

For the OP, I'd just forget the teflon shell and use 1/8 nylon alone. Put some slit rubber hose over it at any rubbing points though.

But on my truck, the only available bolt that is on the vertical side of the manifold, like the drawing shows...

Here's the pic I finally found which shows the location of the bolt on my 98,
its forward of the injectors which was confusing me (ok, easily confused)

Found it at Geno's Garage, couldn't copy the pic but its under their boost install instructions--pic looked more like my truck

I left my boost hose the stubbed 1/8" nylon tubing into the 3/16" teflon tubing...so the nylon tubing is only on the ends. I haven't put any clamps on either end so far

My boost is nothing (up to 5) when I"m just riding along
With spirited acceleration it will go 9-11
Really trying to push it to the max WOT at speed it hits 20 then drops quickly

IIRC, these are normal values with my stock 215pump,
so I think I"m going to drive it like this for awhile before I start making changes.
Not sure how much I will do until I find out if CA is going to start smogging my truck...hoping that they will start wtih the 98.5 electronic engines...
