hood stack

I am thinking of installing a hood stack on my truck, what are some parts that I would need to do this, I was just thinking of maybe a 90* and another 90* welded upwards, but one thing I was thiking how do you install the pipe on to the turbo? and how do you open the hood? does anybody have some pics

Not legal.

Most states require exhaust past the cab and at one time CT was SO strict that it had to exit past the rear axle even on a truck.

Not legal or even a good idea for the street. Kinda cool looking though.

I think I saw somewhere that some guys turn the turbo around backwards, but I'm not positive. Usually there is one pipe fixed to the hood and another smaller one off the turbo that fits inside it when the hood closes.

I like the looks of a a hood stack!
If a 3rd Gen. exhaust manifold fit the head & was flipped upside down, that would have the exhaust outlet inna good spot.

I want to know this information as well. Anyone out there with pics of their hood stack set-up?

I've seen the thing about flipping the turbo. It seems to do it this way you would have to re-run the compressor/intercooler piping, and then of course make up the exhaust. Also have to re-run the oil line to the bearing.

I was really hoping to do this with a junkyard hood, an HX-35 downpipe, and some exhaust tubing.

If someone could post up their setup with some details that would be fantastic.
