Homemade Crankcase Vent Breather Tube
I was tired of the puke bottle set-up and the mess it was making on the front of the engine & rear of radiator. So, i made this vent tube system instead. I got the idea from another helpful member here on DTR and tweaked it here and there to my liking. I forget the username but whoever it is - feel free to take the credit for the original idea. . .
Here are some pics. . . .

I will look for my measurements and post when i find them.

measurements
OK, i found the measurements and they are as follows, in order from breather (front) to under truck (rear):
7" of 3/4" braided PVC hose
1.5" of 1/2" PVC pipe (all hard PVC pipe from here on)
45* coupler
24"
90* coupler
8"
90* coupler
9"
45* coupler
1.75"
Female threaded coupler
Male Threaded coupler
2-3'
Items needed:
12" of 3/4" braided PVC hose (more than enough)
7' of 1/2" PVC pipe (again, more than enough)
90* female coupler x 2
45* female coupler x 2
Female threaded coupler (both ends same)
Male threaded coupler (one end threaded, one end slide on)
PVC primer/glue
Hose clamps x 2
Optional items:
Spray paint primer
Desired spray paint color (I used Tremclad 'hammered finish' - looks like metal)

How to:
Round up supplies
Cut to given lengths
Test fit dry (tweak lengths if needed)
Final test fit - mark pipe & couplers at connections with marker while still mocked up. Use these marks as a reference when gluing together.
Glue all connections - let dry (should have two solid pieces and one piece of hose now)
Primer/paint if desired
Install hose, slide clamps over hose
Connect large bent piece to hose, tighten clamps
Thread on 2-3' straight piece from under truck and cut to desired length
Fasten where necessary (I used zip ties)
Admire your work for 10-15 minutes.
(Insert beer as needed)

is starts on the crankcase breather and works its way back and down behind the engine, eventually just fastened to a frame rail or brake line and cut off and leave it open the the air. . . .
does that answer what you were asking?

Ya, so you pretty much re-routed it away from the front of engine to the back. Would that make it stop dripping oil or not?

that is correct - rerouted from front to back. i don't know if it will stop ALL dripping but it sure has a much harder time to make to the end of the tube than it did before. . .
every once in a while i take a look at the open end and there is slight residue, but i have never seen any evidence of a drip

it will still drip eventually I just pulled the puke bottle off and added some hose to the front down low enough that the fan doesn't pull it back in the radiator.but what ever works

Very nice!!! I've modded mine with the hose going behind the drivers headlight (after R&R the rad twice in 2 years). But I'm a little concerned about it freezing there, your solution is much better, thanks for the info.
