Alright, another update....

So i was under the hood today up at the shop. Ive been having problems with it "loosing prime" .... or so i thought.

Ive had a problem similar to this before (get in the truck in the morning, and it wouldnt start because it didnt have prime, yadda yadda yadda)

So i thought #6 injector line was loose, so i crawled up there and it was tight. So was the others.

Now, i just pulled into the house (and i live on a hill, kinda, and the roads were wet, so i flipped on the box just to get a little sideways ) and i got in it for a little bit, then i let out it real quick cause i had to turn off. Then i went to turn and NO power steering. I looked at the tach and it was a 0! so i enguaged the clutch to get her started again.

I have come to the conclusion that my HO pump just isnt pushing enough fuel (obvisouly! ) and that im shutting it down too quick so when i go to start it in the morning it dosnt have fuel at the injectors.

Second tweak...

i adjusted the turbo so it'll only hit 45 psi. now i can get on it with out blowing the HG (hopefully!) Now i can get into it in 5th and 6th gear. i LOVE it!!

just need to get on the dyno so i can change this dang vp!

Ive had it up at 44 psi many many times and everything is fine so far. How far can you push these turbos anyways?
Drive pressure should be 1:1 up to 45 #'s. They'll support 60 or so, but if your smoke clears then you have enough air,.................or need some more fuel

I got a quote on a reman head for $1200 and $348 for o-ring. Looks like the cost isn't much different from what you paid and down time would be minimalized. I'm just making mental notes for a time far from now when I have coin

Crazy thread- so many things to comment on

Yes I have to be very careful on wet pavement. Truck got pretty sideways on the interstate at around 30 lbs a couple weeks ago in the rain. Makes me glad I learned to drive in Alaska

4th gear launch?? And I thought I was the only one crazy enough to try something like that And riding the brake?? I was trying that out with my 3rd gear launches right before I needed to have my brakes serviced. Go figure
