Holley blue install w/ intank pump

I ordered a Holley blue pump with regulator, I'm gonna put it in line with the in tank pump. I have been searchin the forums, but I'd like to know where you guys mounted the pumps. The only place I have room is right in front of the tank, can I cut the steel lines there? How are you guys doin it, I'm not the greatest do it yourselfer.

Yes, just cut the steal line and slide your 3/8 line on it and clamp it. leave plenty slack so you don't pinch the rubber hose.

Pump and regulator are on the truck, have it set to 14 psi idle, and can't get under 12 psi WOT! May adjust it for towing, but I'm enjoyin life right now, I hope everything stays in place and works as it should. This is a very cheap and effective way to keep the pressures up, and hopefully keep the truck running. Thanks blackdiesel for answering any and all of my questions.

How did you wire that bad boy?

And, you did this on a truck with the intake transfer pump correct?

Do you have any pics of the install?

I am wanting to do this on my '02 with the in tank transfer pump kit on it.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing, but I am worried that if the intank pump does fail it may cut off fuel supply to the holley pump. Could this be an issue?

do all the ctd have in tank pumps? i was under the impression that the lift pump on the block pulled the fuel from the tank.

i took a hot wire and ran it to the fuse box and put it under a fuse that is only hot when the key is on and then took the ground wire and ran it under the bolt that holds it to the frame.

yes, i did

no, sorry

and go ahead, it puts the pressure where it should be

not all, just the trucks that have taken in under vp44 failure warranty.

If your vp goes out under warranty, the dealer installs an intank pump. supposed to be "high-volume, low-pressure" (along with the vp44 of course)

yes, from the factory all of them had a lift pump on the block that pulls fuel from the tank

oh and you dont have to install the regulator. Its not necessary. You can if you want, but if you dont want to buy the other 2 fittings and mount the regulator it wont hurt anything not running it

has your truck been in the shop the last year or so with bad fp? you could look at your lift pump (or lack there of if thats the case) and tell that way.

i bought my truck in 4/05 and its not been in the shop yet(knock on wood) but my lift pump on the block took a dump in the spring and i have just been running on the hooley pump. the F/P is not great but its tollerable. 11psi at idle and 9psi at WOT.

stick another lp on that and your idle psi will double and your wot pressure would be 15 or so.
