I've spoken well of my Holley blue in the past because it was giving me decent performance. I installed it just before the Walbros became popular, or I would've gone in that direction. I just want to share my experience.

This Holley just stopped working. Truck started spitting and sputtering and I looked to the fp gauge to see a big zero. Checked the connections and it's getting power, just not pumping anything.

Now it's time for a homemade Walbro setup. What's a good (and cheap) way to splice into the filler neck or vent line for my Walbro return?

The Holley pumps carry a 1 year warranty I believe.

Some of the pics I've seen looked like they took a plastic double ended hose barb connector/adapter which will fit into the filler neck hose and drilled and tapped it to accept a screw in brass hose barb fitting. I imagine the part for the filler neck could be PVC pipe which could be obtained at any hardware--Lowes--Home Depot, etc. Them darn Holley pumps, seems like you get one that lasts forever and sometimes you get a dud.

Forgot to mention that I installed it in Jan. 2006. I don't drive the truck all the time.

I doubt Holley would honor the warranty if the pump was used on a diesel truck though. Since its not designed to pump diesel.

The holley pumps have always been garbage....i went through 2 of them in about the same time period as you.

Put on a Aeromotive Hotrod pump....60,000KM & 3 yrs ago....havent looked back. Get about 16psi idle, and 12psi cruise & 9-10psi at WOT.

I went through 3 of those Aeromotive pumps before I sold my 24v. Current owner put a Fass on it right after he bought.

Holleys aren't the answer either. Before the Fass, Walbro, Glacier electric pumps existed, we (early 24v owners) were trying anything. Holley's, BG, Aeromotive, different Carters, dual pump setups, all failures.

There's quite a bit of good stuff out there now.

+1 to that bud. Mine ran ok for a while, then started leaking like a sieve and sounded like a 2 stroke boat.

Holleys work great in all my exp. with them. My opinion to making them live is pull the bottom plate and remove that piece of super fine mesh screen in the inlet. Diesels dirtier and thicker than gas and doesnt work well with that copper screen, the tinyest crap will plug it and then its starves the rotors for lube and gets hot and dies. Again, this is just my findings ive run them on every thing from 6 second drag cars to 500+ hp diesels for years without failure, pull your dead pump - remove cover and look at the crap on the screen bet its 100% clogged.

I got a regulator and return line from vulcan performance. The barbed fitting on the return line goes to the tank vent, right next to the filler line.

They replaced mine under the 1yr warranty. It lasted 8 months!
