Hole size on Marine 370 injectors

How many thousandths per hole does the average garden variety 370 marine injector have?

I am having a set of injectors made soon, and I want mine made with CORRECT spray angles but set up to be slightly larger than 370's.

I was thinking 5x.017 holes

Thanks in advance.

stockers i believe are 5 x .012

370s are 5 x .014

What you are gonna do is create a firehose for ur combustion chamber hehehehehe

370's are 5@.012
There are 5@.016's on ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ETR-J...QQcmdZViewItem

I'm got a 24v...for now and have 7@12's and love them...if you are getting injectors made get a 7 or 8 hole for better atomization and you can then run more big holes
www.haisleymachine.com is where you can get a set made

As mentioned, 370's are 5 x .012.

I have a set of 5 x.014 that I will let go at a very reasonable price.

i was just gonna say the same thing go with more holes, but with a smaller diameter. better atomization means less smoke and they are more efficient which equals more power. are you getting these injectors made from scratch or are you just modifying your stockers

I wouldn't spend that kind of money for them off ebay. I'd have a reputable shop such as Scheid's do it, since that ebay price is right in line with everyone else.

There are also some 370's injectors w/ 5@.022 on ebay. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ETR-J...QQcmdZViewItem
They are suppose to increase HP by 225 and TQ by 405.

Tell me more about the 7 hole concept.. Is anyone running 7 hole injectors with a 12V?
I want MASSIVE fuel so I can spool a Sled Puller 66..
Should I go for some 7x 12's made my Scheids?

I want the correct spray pattern.

Well

i did get the hole size wrong on the actual 370s BUT if you want the correct spray pattern, why not just hone out a set of 215 injectors. After all they are built for the pistons and combustion chambers of our engine and would probably have a more direct spray pattern (more precise i mean) than a 370 would in the same chamber..

I'll probably just have Scheids start from scratch.. Wouldn't that be better?

I dont plan no having 370s as part of the equation.

Thanks for the input thus far.

They won't EDM a used tip. Used tips have a high rate of failure. They'll only use new tips. Let Scheid do their magic. They'll start with a new stock tip. Open the holes up to whatever size you want. That way the spray pattern will match the stock pistons.

As they said, 370's are 5x.012. If you want to get the correct spray angles out of a marine injector, you need to go to at least 5x.019 in order to clean up the ends of the passages in the tip, I believe.
I don't think you'd need anything bigger than 370's if you're only running a 66mm turbo. Run 370's, an aggressive plate, and laser-cuts, and that should be plenty with that 180 pump...

I'd rather run the correct spray angles though, so things are more efficient. A 215 pump is also in the works
