hmmm....
so i was talking to a few people about the plans of the tranny work, juice/att, exhaust, intake, fass. should put me up over 400 hp. so they brought something so my attention that i kinda overlooked in all my excitement.
for you guys out there in the 400 hp zone with the 24v cummins, have you had problems with driveshafts, rears, fuel system? things like that. am i asking for trouble putting that much horsepower into my everyday truck?
thanks

Unless you have injectors also the juice will only put you in the 320 range. I drive around daily in the 400 something zone. It all depends on how you drive, if you drive the same as you do now it wont be any worse on parts, but if you put the pedal to the floor from every stop sign it can ruin stuff fast. I blew my rear out fried 2 trannys stock and a buitl one. Now that i dont like fixin it so much i dont drive it hard except if i take it to the track or pulls. It all depends on you.

Look at my pics in my gallery. I got a bit of water in it, then after i flushed it with 60 quarts of atf i beat the crap out of if for 6 more months sledpulls, drag strip, and lots of hard runs on the street. Then one day it exploded while driving down the hiway at 55 haha, locked the rear wheels up for about 50 ft till internals made up there mind on which way to go.

I daily drive at 425 hp, drag race half a dozen times a yr, and work my truck up to 10,000 GVW in business. Have had nothing other than expected maintenance on the parts you ask about.
Many others do the same!
The engine can handle it and the key, IMO, to good luck with the rest of the vehicle is a decent preventative maintenance plan!
Good Luck!

doesnt the 24v cummins have about 280 hp stock?? and the juice/att says it adds about 120 hp, thats about 400 hp isnt it?? are the injectors limiting it. and what should i do about the fuel system, i hear alot of people having trouble with the vp44 or lift pump. btw..whats a lift pump

400 on the flywheel and 400 to the ground is a big difference. Your stock cummins will put down 185 on the rollers if it is an auto and 190 if it is a stick. You got a long ways to go from there to hit 400. I might be at 400, look at my sig.
