Hit the dyno today!!

Well to say that I was surprised was an understatment. She did 540hp/950tq today I am surprised because I dynoed last year ar 450hp with 80hp Edge injectors. The only changes were Mach 4 injectors and level 6 for the Edge. I guess those big stick are making all of the advertised power!! Thanks to the DTR Alberta boys and AFI Performance for making my day

Nice numbers, busa. How were the egts? I'd like to see the ramp rates and how far power traveled before decline.
You got me wanting to dyno real bad now. Thanks.

I'm a computer dummy but I will try to load the graph. I was not driving it on the dyno but on highway blasts it just touches 1500 at the end of 5th gear at redline. The graph looks good, nice slope untill around 3000 when it levels off and starts to fall at 3300 (this is for HP) I think the Edge only fuels to 3300 or something like that. Torque peaks at 2850 and starts falling off a bit before 3300.

The reason your torque is low is because peak occurred at 2850. Maybe the dyno operator rolled into it too hard. Usually the guys with high torque numbers make it much earlier than 2850.

Awesome numbers though, wish I had that kind of power!

What housing do you have on the 62? 1500* isn't too bad, but does it smoke alot?

It a 62/71/14, it does smoke a bit with the Edge on anything higher then level 2, but its a standard so I can drive it almost smoke free on the higher levels just by keeping my foot out of it. Oh yea it is a 5-speed Ph4tty

I'm of the opinion that most trucks that have the tq peak delayed to higher RPM are experiencing this because of turbo lag.

Aftermarket turbos can be a lot like installing a larger cam in a gas engine. They make more "power" by moving the powerband up to higher RPM, robbing lower rpm power to give more upper RPM power.

I'll refer again to the article on HTT website discussing David Dunbar's experience going from stock turbo, to twins, then to an HTT62. The HTT single made the most peak power, but lost a lot of bottom end power in "area under the curve." At 2K rpm, the HTT is down 200lb-ft LESS than stock, and a whopping 400-lb ft less than the twins!

Only at 2300rpm does the HTT charger even equal the stock turbo's power output. So at all points less than 2300rpm, the stocker makes more power!

After that, the HTT unit comes into its own and makes a lot of power.

Yeah, I always see big singles with slow rising torque curves. My peak torque was at 1800rpm. That's a big reason why I don't want a big single when I upgrade--I don't want to have to take the truck to 2500+rpm every time before I shift.
