Highest HP 2001.5 HO with stock turbo ?

I was at about 400 with injectors, power puck, and TST. It got hot realy, realy, realy quick. I had 4" exhaust and a BHAF, and I'd still peg a 1600* pyro in a matter of seconds. That poor little 35 hated life.

When I bought my DD2 injectors way back when, the advice I got from Diesel Dynamics is that the HX35W-12 is good up to around 320 RWHP before the EGTs get out of hand. When towing, I can hit 1450 degF pre-turbo EGT at my horsepower levels (see signature), so I drive by the pyrometer on the steep grades. I'm sure 400+ RWHP can be achieved with the HX35W-12, but the EGTs and smoke due to the overfueled condition wouldn't be much fun to me.

I'm not 01.5, but close enough.
I did the numbers in my sig, but didn't see any HP gains on the TST beyond level 4. And she will heat up quick. 1600+ is easy to hit on a WOT run.

We might have a winner!
I saw that dyno run... and was involved in the 'race' to get to the dyno shop on time... as was Big Blue!
But I did not realize it ran THAT hot!
Wish you had said something at the time... but no harm done, I guess.

The trip out there wasn't that bad. I had the TST turned down so it would climb slower. If it did jump up, it was brief.
But I did notice one day running on TST alone, it was REAL easy to hit max EGT. I took the Smarty out of my truck to load it up for a buddy to try, then in the mean time we had to run to a fire call. I had cranked the TST up and it pegged quick.

I'd expect to be within shouting distance of 400 with my current rig, but who knows. I'd expect gain at least 50hp going from the DD2s to the M4s, and I did 350 easily with my old setup.
Lots more smoke and EGT now, but still perfectly driveable and lots of fun. (i.e. I never tow).

There must be someone running a head and cam on a stock turbo. I would say that 450rwhp is possible, not drivable while towing. If you run drugs you could even get to the 500rwhp+ mark. I guessing of course.

Oh, the original post.....I've never dynoed. I figure it would be a waste of $$ until I at least get rid of the stock injectors.
