Highest hp 03/04 auto with just a box?
Who has the most hp with just a box on an otherwise stock third gen w/ a 48re? How is the tranny holding up? I have a new truck on the way and I would like to start planning my bombing adventures. thanks ;D

I was at Thunder in Muncie and Bullydog said they dynoed the red Kelderman truck with just abox at 400 hp. I have read here that many of these boxes created fault codes in the ECM. I would wait a while until Edge releases the new Juice for the HPCR Cummins.

Oh, I doubt that. My current truck has hit 97 mph through the traps in the 1/4. I am going to miss that for a while. :'(

I have tried what is out there. The BullyDog box will make 100HP over stock, but I only have one that is still working. I had lots of problems with these boxes, codes, running rough, white/blue smoke etc. I don't like the way they don't fuel untill over 2000 rpms. I would wait, hopefully Edge will get the Juice out before year end. TST is another option, but don't know when they will be avaliable. For my money the EZ is the only good option avaliable right now. I have put some injectors in too. On the 48RE, watched James Northrum go through the changes that DC made, they are somewhat better than the 47's but they did not fix some of the more common problems. That said I have not had any problems with EZ's and 48RE's on customers trucks. The high HP 03's I have done are 6 speeds.

The rail pressure box is actually a nice addition in these trucks. Gives it more poop right from idle and on up. You can tow at the highest settings, no smoke, no codes. Not a bad deal at all for someone whos just looking for a little better seat of the pants. If your like me and you have injectors and a turbo then you can STILL tow with it on the highest setting. No smoke, no codes, no problems. Plus you will be running north of 400 hp at all times, not just when you turn the box up for that brief minute to make the dyno run. Thats a lot of fun. At any rate IMO a lot of people have dumped on the ez without good reason. It isnt the numbers king but it works well.
