I have Mach 1.6s and Juice and while towing 5k lbs up mountain passes, I need to keep an eye on EGTs
You could probably tow 8k no problem, just keep an eye on the EGT
I would go for RV275 or Mach 1s and a Juice. That way you can crank up the power when your not towing.

I run a Mach 1.75 (95hp) on a stock turbo and a HO and I have no issues. I run the comp on 1x1. I would Advise you to go with 1.6's and a Smarty, and if you wanted-make your turbo a hybrid. But then again, I dont do any towing in the mountains, So I dont know what its like.

Prior to my "Bombing gone wild" episode that I've had pretty much all of 06, I had the Edge comp, stock HX35, Mach 1.5's, and a South Bend OFE to hold the power. I towed 15k gooseneck no problem, no egt issues (towing with comp in 1 or 2 normally, occasionally on 3). Dyno #'s listed below in sig.....about 390-865 or so with that combo. Very good all around combination.

I have no problems on smaller hills, but when driving passes in the 5000-7000 ft range, it can heat up. I downshift(3.55s with 35s) to 5th and I'm fine. No problem doing 70 plus MPH.
If you tow through passes all the time, you will need to keep an eye on temps. Otherwise your fine. I am only around 1000 or so on smaller hills. If I lived anywere east of South Dakota I would have no issues at all. The smaller hills of the east would not pose a problem at all.
I think the 1.6s are a good choice but I would go with Mach 1s if I towed heavy all the time around here.

I would go with Jammer III nozzles and a Smarty since you already have complete gauges. I say the stage III nozzles so you can turn down the smarty while towing and still have a good horsepower upgrade. You could also get a Juice so you can set the EGT backdown sensor and not worry about it. I tow around 8K on a regular basis and if my EGT's get hot I just hit 5th gear and it seems to be fine. Eric
