Duration is only for 3rd gens. Smarty can't do pressure or duration on a 2nd gen. The VP isn't that smart.

Vp trucks can only manipulate injection pressure curve with fueling boxes and injector size.

Ordering a fass tommorrow.
Guess i will pull the edge but know i will be staved for power pulling the gooseneck.
Just returned from a trip with the 03 and the 46' gooseneck . went to Branson, Jasper and Liberty Hill Tx back thru Memphis and picked up a load of trailers ( 2 car haulers and 4 16' utilitys ) and the 03 pulls great with no problems except for the 9 mpg.

Called Extreme Deisel today to order a Fass pump and they talked me out of it. Said they are pulling the Fass from their website because the are having to many problems with them.

suggested, and sold me

BD-Power Dodge Lift Pump Kit (OEM Bypass)
2000-2002

Part#: BD1050229

(Qty: 1 x $232.75)

Claim these pumps are more reliable.
Any input---first hand knowledge ?

I believe BD's pump is a Carter just like the stock LP. The Carters are a good pump but just get a bad rap because of the way Cummins implemented them.

My personal favorite pump is the Walbro 392 used with a good bypass pressure regulator. Walbros last several hundred thousand miles on Power Stokes.

I read alot about the lift pump problems , and knew i had to do something after adding INJ and boxes so i found a site that done a mod that really makes sence . The pump that cummins uses should b gravity feed , the pumps now are working as a puller and a pusher , they cant handle that , heres what i done

I use a holley volumax 160 GPH pump and a fuel/air seperator 5 micron filter

1/2 in lines to the Vp 44 , i trashed the factory lift and filter assembly , this has been on for 6 months with noo probs i hold 22 psi with no regulator I did have to route a line from the pump to the supply side of the tank cause i did peg a 30 psi guage when first installed , I have about 200$ in this setup

My Fass has been as good as the day that it went in. I still have 16psi at idle and 13 psi at wot. I wouldn't hestate to recommend it to anyone. I have about 100000 miles on it, before that I used up three cummins LP's. So I'm saving money.
