f1 My uncle had them but traded for a 06 and he gave me them . They haze alittle at idle if the light is right, but other than that they are sweet. I want bigger tho.

With big fuel...it's a whole different scenario trying to get drivability (control smoke and spoolup) with an auto....and many with one type tranny have never even driven the other! Auto's with 14 cm turbine housings are very laggy ....as a rule. More fuel can make the problem worse!

Driving a 5 speed for 3 days was a real eye opener for me. Much easier to control smoke and a laggy turbo by winding out the gears a bit! A completely different truck, IMO!

Well said RJ. I have a tight TC/stator from Goerend's and with a 64/14 it is much slower to spool up and when the TC locks in OD it can belch some black if I'm under revved (sp). More often I manually hit the OD so I can control the smoke. It's fun when I can let it all hang out but requires some finese for daily driving to keep the temps in control.
