High Performance / Smoke = Dirty Oil?
I was just wondering how the oil is affected when you have larger injectors and the such and make a lot of exhaust smoke. Does you oil get dirty quicker? I think I cahnged my oil about 2K miles ago and now it's super black (just looking at the oil on the dipstick). The truck has gone for much greater distances pre modification and the oil was never black like that. The truck usually doesn't tow, but this time it towed a 30ft pontoon boat and 3-seater jetski about 1000 miles. I wasn't the driver, nor was I on the trip, but I guess it was running like no less than 20 psi boost the whole time and the engine temp needle went past halfway at some point(s) (I don't know). I have a 96 auto.

More smoke = more soot in the oil, my tweaked trucks have darker oil than my brothers 96, there's additives in the oil to suspend the soot so it doesn't fall out and form sludge on the bottom. Other than running a bypass filter setup to filter stuff as small as soot there really isn't much to do about it other than regular maintance.
