High mileage pump tapping.
Anyone install a wire tapping box on their high mileage VP44 (100,000 + )
for the first time and have no problems. Is a high mileage pump more
likely to fail ?

My truck had over 100,000 when I tapped the pump. The only problem I had was the lift pump couldnt supply enough fuel. I added a holley blue and all is great!

i tapped mine at 120,000 and still good at 190,000, but after dynoing a few times i have decided that my pump is weak but not from the box, its from the fact that it has a lot of miles. the stock dyno numbers ae where they are supose to be, it can only put out so much fuel when demanding more fom it. so even tho yours may be fine at stock dont expect the pump to be able to keep up with the demand at higher levels. to take full advantage of the box a new fresh pump may be needed.
