High Idler

Hey, I was wondering does anyone know of a good place to get one? One that works like when you set the parking brake or something like that and kicks down when you press on the brake pedal. Also what rpm's should it idle at with this and without this? Thanks

There were some posts a while back about a guy who was selling them for 30 bucks, but his email doesn't work anymore.

Must have realized it was too cheap eh? ;D

Re:High Idler

$30.00 I'll take it. I found one but I dont know if I like the way it works. How does it activate and deactivate? But I like how there is no cutting or splicing of wires to hook up. Also is my engine an ISB? Take a look at the idler.

Re:High Idler

Heres another one. Also $200.

If you get a high idler should you put a heavy duty idler pully on your truck?

Heres a price of all of these things as well as a description.

What do you think, Heavy duty pully or not?

Yes you have an ISB. Thats the Practical Solutions High Ilder, goes for $199 directly from Practical Solutions. It activates by turning the **** on, and how far you turn it determines the RPM.....upto 1500rpm. You can deactivate it by turning the **** to "off" And as you say there is no splicing or cutting, plugs right in.

Re:High Idler

24V's can get a high idle feature activated through the pcm, it will automaticly bring the idle speed up through the computer & when you hit the brake it deactivates, cost about 65 bucks @ the dealer.
there is a tsb on this.

I thought that was just the "cold weather idle" feature? Dealer did it for no charge on mine...

Re:High Idler

I thought the cold weather idle was already programmed in?? How does that work anyway?? I too would be interested in a high idler of some sort....as I often idle for extended periods of time.

Re:High Idler

Try your Cummins dealer. I know that Cummins Alberta sells them, not sure about the US though. A little over $300 cdn and totally plug and play.

Re:High Idler

Hoss! the 03's came with the high idle feature already enabled, the 98.5-02's came withe the feature disabled so the dealer has to enable it.

CumminsDude
I have the link for it here it's http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2001/18-019-01.htm it's a very nice feature.
