last week there was a thread on seeing if marco could put a update to the smarty to make the trucks idle ramp up to 1200 when it idles for more than 5 minutes,i was expaining this to a guy with a 3rd gen,he says his truck already does it,do the 3rd gens have this option from the factory?or did he have some sort of cool down timer thing?

My truck idles up in the cold after about 1 minute (???) with a Mad ECM but it does not do it when its warm outside. I am pretty sure there is a parameter for this. Outside temp must be X degrees or less. Dunno what X is.
I bet Marco can "bypass" this by taking X and turning it into some high number like 200 F. Maybe not though!
I would love to see the truck idle up to 1200 regardless of outside temp, after 1 minute, not 5. Parking brake has to be on, so it's not like it's going to idle up at a traffic light or anything.

The current parameters for high idle are:
1. Intake Manifold Temperature less than 0°C (32°F) and,
2. Coolant Temp is less than 60°C (140°F) and,
3. The Transmission is in Neutral or Park and,
4. The Service Brake pedal is not depressed and,
5. Throttle = 0% and,
6. Vehicle Speed = 0 mph
It doesn't really based anything on time, just on the temperature parameters. If you override both temp parameters, you may end up with a high idle anytime you park.

i didnt mean to confuse anyone,i wasnt refering to the high idle when the engine is cold,i was refering to a high idle if the engine is left idling when warm for more than5 min, there was a thread on it last week, some guys were asking marco if he could put this feature in the smarty,my question was is this feature a factory option for the 3rd gens?a 3rd gen owner told me his truck has it already.

As far as I know, the high idle is only for cold temps, like the reflash for the 2nd gens, although I think they can set it with the cruise controls on the 3rds.
