hehe. No I don't have one yet. It's been a long couple of weeks and I just haven't had time to do much with the site or the truck except make sure it stays up

FWIW, DC just wised up to the blue chip cover and issued an internal memo. I saw it posted, I'll see if I can find it again and I'll post it.

Glenn

Re:hey jack, you got a blue chip cover yet?

I wondered when that would happen. It will be interesting to see how they instruct their dealers to detect it. The 02s have new tamper proof torx hardware that requires a special, hard-to-get bit. I suppose they could look for evidence that the cover hardware has been touched, or that the cover is cleaner than the rest of the pump. stuff like that. please post your findings -- Doug

Re:hey jack, you got a blue chip cover yet?

As do I. The problem with the cover (I just found this out to) is that the point that connects inside the pump actually has to be driven through the plastic on the inside of the pump.

If you'll look at your cover, the power screw has a point on the end of it. Look at the inside of the pump where the screw will be. Nothing but plastic, right? How is that supposed to work? Well, come to find out, when you screw that screw in, you pierce the plastic and then touch the wire. So if DC was to take the cover off (which is a PIA) and look inside the pump, they could see where you screwed the terminal in at. The screws have like a gold-tint finish to them and when you take them on and off, that finish gets scratched and you can tell. Now whether they could say you have been tampering with it or not and could prove it, I don't know. But they can sure tell if they take that cover off.

Re:hey jack, you got a blue chip cover yet?

If you have a good set of drill bits and a steady vice and drill press, you can drill the end of your torx bit to simulate the tamper proof ones.
At least that is how a Gunsmith would work around it ;D
