Help w/ exhaust and turbo piping please...
Gotta start somewhere....so hear goes:
My family owns an 01 CTD, 100k on her w/ no problems. With the rising fuel cost and the more we are pulling w/ her, Im thinking about installing exhaust and a BHAF. I've searched and read the thread on the BHAF from TDR. As for the exhaust, I thought about replacing the factory downpipe from the Turbo out w/ a mandrel bent, 4" tubing and replacing the factory muffler and delete the cat.
A few questions Im having---On the air filter, is there a part number for Donaldson that I can use, where do ya'll recommend picking up the air filter?--Im hoping my local NAPA will be able to get one.
2nd--If I delete the cat, will the truck have any problems passing inspection? We live in SC, yet, our truck still has to be inspected because it is insured in NC through our farm.
I think that is it. Basically, Id like to spend a little cash and open up the air flow better. Once I can see those gains (I have gauges already), and see the decrease in EGTs I will research a computer to purchase.
Your suggestions are all apperciated.
Thank you!

Part numbers for the BHAF.
As far as the cat goes, you don't have one to begin with. The cat lookin thingy on your exhaust now is actually a resonator and serves no purpose other than to keep it quiet.

Sweet, thanks alot of the part numbers, those will come in MUCH USE!
I thought it might be a resenator that went before the OEM muffler but I wasnt sure. Very glad to know that know.
Thanks.
