help a newbee...need advice...
so my 01's got 60k miles on it and seems to have less power than it did say the first 35-40k.so my warranty ended 3/4/05 due to it has been 5 years[no its not 7].so i ordered the comp box and a tsts grabber but have not hooked it up yet[the wire].i have isspro gauges showing 6-8 psi and a fresh pump.here's my question ,i ordered a scottys fuel flow kit and a stock afe-7 air filter replacement.will the scottys fuel kit and the afe stock filter work ok with a tapped wire???the only towing i do is a 10' camper and 16' sled boat???no other mods.

Sounds like a good combo. Most on this board do NOT use stock replacement filters, instead going with a full intake system. There's not enough added airflow to justify the cost of stock replacement, and the OEM filter box is known to not seal properly at times (which lets air bypass the filter).
Scotty's fuel kit is top notch, and I recommend it highly.
I'd recommend that you tap the wire using a Posi-Tap from Swenco Wiring Products. These are the folks that make the Posi-Locks that are so great. This will make an easy, secure connection that will hold up better than the Scotch-lok (easier on the pump wire).
The Grabber is good, but why pay $20 for something that a $1 Posi-Tap can do just as well (only it's smaller and more secure)??

6-8psi. Is that with the new pump installed. I have a feeling that as soon as you tap the Ip wire your Vp44, it's going to die, if its not already dead. Call DC to ask for some goodwill assistance with the fuel pressure issue. They should since they know about the problems.
