help new trany problems

help new trany problems

ok so i bought a art carr 47re for a 98 dodge 12 v. i instaled it about two weeks ago and right off the bat under wot it would not up shift moastly from 2nd to 3rd. i callet art carr and they said they would build and ship me a new valve body whitch still hasent ben bilt or shiped last i new. now today while leaveing work it would slam in and out of gear in first whitch it has ben doing for about a week. when i first try to take off in the mornings and when i leave work so on the drive home it wouldshift fine up to od then drop in to netural then when it would pick back up it would be in 2nd and over rev it also would leave me coasting for long peroids of time after bumping the throdel and slowing down to about 20 it would pick first back up. i am so pist off about this please help

Not to be stupid, but have you checked the fluid level?? (truck running, in neutral with parking brake set) Makes me wonder since you said it worked better after warming up a little.

yes i have fluid is fine i am trying to figure if its somthing whith the tranny or the valve body or what else it might be

Yes, I understand that. I was workin on the "what else it might be" part. You always start with the basics.

check your TV cable isn't stuck- it can cause a whole host of problems.

Is your valvebody electronic? You might have to put in a resistor with an aftermarket valvebody due to the increase in the line pressure of the transmission. Mine did the 3-4 start but the restistor fix that problem. This may or may not apply as my truck is abit newer. Have you adjusted your kick down linkage?
