Help on lift pump fuel pressure guage install
Quick question on installing a fuel pressure guage for the lift pump. I've got an electric gauge, sender, banjo bolt, and two washers. I know how to install them, but want to know the start-up or bleed procedure.
Is just turning the key on and off a few times to run the lift pump without starting the engine enough, or is there a better bleed procedure?

Bump the starter about 3 or 4 times. By bumping turn the key almost start the truck, engine barely turns over does not start, then the LP runs for about 25 seconds each time. I'm not sure why but to bump the second time on my 02 I have to remove the key and start over.
After that if it doesn't start only run the starter for 15 seconds at a time and then let it cool a few minutes. Others have luck bumping the starter, letting the pump pump and then starting. If you have problems after that it's time to start cracking injectors to bleed the air out of the lines. I've never had to do that yet. The best advice I read on this forum is when you remove the fuel filter, I'm assuming your changing the filter if your putting in a new gauge, pull the filter quick. This doesn't allow the VP to loose as much prime or defuel.
Good luck.

IN my truck
It was a cubby hole that I kept my cell phone in. It was a free mount offered from geno's when I purchased my fuel pressure guage. If U are wanting to relocate ur guage I sure u could find that cubby hole at a wrecking yard for nickles and dimes.
