That's weird. With my M4s and Smarty on 9, I could barely make any smoke on the hwy. It would just spool and scoot-- then slip the clutch

Have you verified that this is, in fact a JR-modded turbo?? Not just an OTS '55? (OTS= off the shelf)

Oh, and you need to check for drive pressure leaks as well-- cracked exhaust manifold, leaking gasket, etc.

It's possible that you have no boost leaks, but rather the boost isn't being made to begin with

im pretty sure there are no exhaust leaks, the only concern being the metal gasket i used does not have the center splitter. it was a single large opening. could there be conflicting pulses from the front cylinders and the rear cylinders that are affecting spoolup

No. It wouldn't have any significant effect on spoolup.

I say this based on the fact that I modded my housing by drilling the WG hole through the divider, and spoolup is still great.

i tried a smarty...lets just say that smarty #8 + 5x5 comp + 150hp injectors +jr adkins big LIL 55= 1900rpms spool up and HOLY COW in the back of the seat kinda feeling...but god was that thing a smokey combo. it was a pure animal. i hit it from a 40+ roll on dry pavement in 4th gear and start to get axle hop with the tires wanting to break loose. it was GREAT

someone buy my DD3's and modified HX35 so i can buy a smarty

Where are you located? I have a home made boost leak checker you could use or borrow. I'll be in my garage all weekend fiddling around.

Thats what I'm wondering. It'd make sense if this wasn't a modded 55.

A couple hundred quicker spool w/ my ram air mod. When I tested the smarty I was hoping for a couple hundred more, but nope. Just more boost sooner and with less load, but no sooner in the rpm range. Oh and cowl induction into the stock box using grade a quality dryer hose didn't make any difference that I could tell.

Glad to hear the Smarty helped so much. It puzzles me that a Smarty would give you 500-600 rpm quicker spoolup than a wire-tapped Comp? I could see a couple hundred quicker, but 5-600 is a TON faster . Can anybody else with a Smarty chime in and let us know your spoolup findings before/after as well?
I'm wondering if maybe your Comp isn't quite at full power or something? Or maybe the Smarty is just one awesome program .
