The fiancé is hinting that the truck is too loud when we're traveling. I'll admit the Dodge is louder than my Ford and can get a little annoying while climbing hills loaded. What can I do to kill the cab noise? Will something like Dynomat help any?

A lot of folks don't realize how much more irritating turbo whine is on the passenger side.

 

I have the ATP wrap Hood liner, valve cover blanket and oil pan blanket. If you stand next to the truck it doesn't sound like the blankets helped but inside while driving I can actually have a conversation now without having to raise my voice. It definitely helped with the in cab noise level.

 

HAHA I thought about that. I could take those rings I bought and have two 600 hp trucks. She really likes the trucks but is too scared to drive them. (great for me) Unfortunately, she would rather we drive the Ford or Honda than the Dodge just because of the noise. In all honesty she is a keeper, but so are the trucks and she knows that. The turbo noise is fine, even with the silencer ring MIA. It's engine noise/exhaust drone that's doing it.

I pulled the back seat out and used contact cement to glue 1/4'' cork board to the back wall of the cab and then used what i had left of the cork on the floor it worked great but real costly if you were to pay for it.

 

I'm with the other guys...earplugs are cheap...lol...in all seriousness, are you running with a high flow muffler or straight...because if it's straight than thats one easy solution...

 

I have an MBRP muffler. The truck was quieter when it had the stock exhaust and no muffler.

 

well im not sure you want to spend more money or have the know how in welding.... but for my truck, when i redo the exhaust im going to build a box, the exhaust will go in and i will have a valve that makes the exhasut go through a big QUIET muffler or it can be routed to the stacks that i plan on getting, that way when i want to talk to people or don't want the drone i can route the exhaust to the muffler. i like haveing the option of loud and quiet.

Theres a product called lizard skin check it out it works pretty well and they also have a thermal bearrier as well.

 

Resonator's are available in 4", 5" 6".
They work the best. Takes away the drone and makes the vehicle drivable.
