Help with fuel press. gage!!

I finished installing pryo, and boost gage and got ready to install the fuel pressure gage and found a small problem, the kit only included a small piece of rubber hose, if my memory serves me correctly shouldn't I use braided steel hose?? I am looking at running this hose off of the schreder valve at the inlet of the injector pump? Does this sound correct? Does anyone know the length and size needed to run the hose from the inlet to the gage??

i take it that this is a manual gauge . if so what i did was get 10 feet of boost line and a needle vavle and the fittings to hook it to the filter housing and the gauge. mines a little different cause its a 99 . the needle vavle will cut the puslation down that the vp44 puts out so you dont kill the gauge. i have had no problems with my set up.

I used a tapped banjo (all five high flows are 4sale...see my classifieds) from the output side of my fuel filter canister with 7' of 300psi test hydraulic hose and a needle valve. Works great, no pulsations, vibrations, buzzing, or leaks. See my gallery for detailed pics.

Thanks Dr.
I believe the hose was 1/8" ID. From NAPA...they had it on a spool.....way cheaper than braided, and you don't see much of it anyway. Hey I replied to the comment on the oil filter on my workbench too
Anyway, all the fittings for the FP gauge came from NAPA too....1/8" NPT. Only thing I didn't picture was the other hose barb on the back of the gauge.

From the looks of Moose's lines they're 1/4".
I personally use 1/8" nylon line, the same type used for boost or mechanical oil pressure gauges. Slip the 1/8" line though some 1/4" to protect against cuts, abrasions and kinks.
