Lightbulb Help on fuel plate and injector question?!?!

I can get a set of 215 injectors for nothing. When it says my truck makes 160 hp does that mean my pump is not the same as the 215 pump or just the injectors and the fuel plate that are different...

So what would I look at as far as the injector plate charts if I put 215 injectors in?? still look at the 95 auto chart or can someone give me an idea what plate to go for...

I'm having my auto rebuilt with upgraded everything and I already ordered a tranny cooler and an intake. Maybe a guestiment of 250-300 hp? I tow more than not but it is usually horses or small equipment so hardly ever over 10k lbs. I'm looking to have pretty good fuel milage but understand that I drive a auto dually so good fuel mileage is above 20-22 on highway and above 17 in town. The guy I bought it from said it averaged 15 from the day he bought it (3 years ago) till when I purchased it. What he didn't know is that you are sapposed to change the air and fuel filter at least once every 3 years... (what a freaking idiot...) Oh well, I just put a chepo paper filter till my intake gets here and how often should I change the fuel filter.. every two or three oil changes (6k-9k miles??)

Please chime in!!

I'd just go for the #10 plate. Good towing upgrade.

Different HP rated pump but its still a P7100.It will not have the same capabilities a true 5spd 215 pump will have.

With the addition of the 215hp injectors on your truck and knowing about where you desire to be for HP I would order a #6 or a #5 plate from TST.With yours being a 95 the 6 is rated at 230hp/605tq and the 5 is rated 255hp/850tq with the stock injectors. The addition of the 215's should add about 20hp give or take a few.The bigger 5 plate will add exhaust temps and you will need to make some air improvements to adjust for them.Temps with the 6 plate will be more forgiving and may yield a better fuel milage.

As for service of the fuel filter, everyone has their own opinion on when they do it.Some will do it at each oil change(6,000 miles)and some every second oil change(12,000 miles). When my truck had the factory fuel system on it I changed the fuel filter every second oil change at 12,000 miles, unless I knew I was going on a long trip then I would install a fresh one.Its up to you to decide when you desire to do it.

Hope that was what you were looking for.......Andy

I have an icebox intake kit on the way and am wanting to do at least single 4" maybe single 5" or dual 4"... Is there a significant increase in power and lowering of EGT's with 4" vs 5" or 5" vs dual 4"??

the exhaust won't affect performence noticably at all IMO, it will just affect Egt's some. 4" or 5" will be perfect, to me it's more a matter of sound, the 5 will be deeper.

I have the same pump as u, and have a 100 plate full forward, afc full forward, 3gsk, 181 dv's, 14cm turbo exhaust housing, and Egt's aren't ever a issue towing 9k lbs. These smaller pumps really don't get hot like the big pumps do until u start adding big injectors and/or laser cut dv's. So IMO go with a 100 plate 3/4 forward, afc forward, and then save up for a 14cm exhaust housing or bigger turbo and some nice injectors like ddp2 or 3 to really make a big difference.

if the 215's are free go for it, they should be a nice upgrade over what u have, but i've still got stock injectors so I dont know for sure what they'll feel like. A 100 plate is just the stock plate ground down to almost a flat profile with alittle lip at the bottom that looks like a ski jump. Search for Plate pics and u'll find a picture of all the different plate profiles u can grind the stock plate to for more fueling. I'll try to find it in a second.
