Help with autometer fuel press guage

I finally got around to putting in the mech guage. I filled the guage with antifreeze and water mix till full(which literly took like two drops). and i hooked up the isolater which is supposed to be pre-filled. I first tested the fuel pressure with a mechanical guage I have at work and I have about 18psi when at idle. When I started the truck up I had 3psi on the new guage. I took a stab at cracking the little bleeder on the isolater and the guage went to nothing and now I cant get any reading no matter what I do.

In the instructions it says somthing about removing a cap on the line side of the isolater but I only had one on the opposite side of the isolater. I figured the line should be filled also or the air would be trapped in between. I dont want to send this back to autometer to be filled. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I'm gonna say ditch the isolater, sooner or later it will fail, my autometer isolater failed and several others. Put in a shutoff valve and run fuel to the gauge. Works fine on my Ultra lite gauges.

Good luck.

The isolator is your problem... Take it out and use it as a paper weight.

Yeah i always had isolater problems and now we just use a 6ft boost tube kit and run diesel strait to the gauge,(not suppose to legally but it's alot different the gasoline) and put some good sealant on the gauge fittings,

Take the isolator out and throw it down the street. Run fuel all the way to the guage.

I have never had a problem with my isolator... We also install isolators on all the fuel pressure gauges that we do and never had a problem with a single one. we have installed at least a dozen in the last year or two and never had a problem.
Bleed the isolator properly.......Make sure that your that your line from the isolator to the gauge is full of glycol.
It will work fine... You can get the proper instructions from Genos...
