Heavy towing with Mach 5s
I have been asked several times about if you can tow with mach 5s, last night I got the chance to try. I pulled about 9500 lbs 125 miles. Temps were fine as long as I kept rpms above 1600 and with the drag comp on 1-1 smoke was controllable. Going up hills in cruise on 68mph temps would go to 1100 but by then the primary turbo was spooling and temps would drop. Anyways just putting the info out , my mach5s are gone and 6s are in there place now, wondering if I can tow with them? Tim

How hot did your coolant temp got? I plan to pull with the mach 6 but very gingerly. I pull a 10k trailer and that the only thing that worries me is the coolant temps. You can just take your foot out of it for the EGT's. The high coolant temps on a steep hill isn't fun on hot ambient days. Been there. I hate having people pass me cause my truck running hot.

Outside temps were low 70s{midnite}. But temps stayed at 190. These were not mountains though, just what we have near Richmond. I didnt need to back out of the throttle on hills I just let the cruise carry it up. Have not really tried the new mach 6s yet, Got to retorque the new studs tommorrow. Then I will let it rip Tim

I have about 10000 miles on my Fass system. Everything works great. I have a slight leak on the return from the pump and I'm to lazy to fix it. The only issue I've had is that on a couple starts when the fuel in the system is warm, I have vapour lock. This pump moves lots of fuel. I get similar pressures as Timinva stated.
