Well I just ordered the new "FASS II" (95g.p.h.) from Rip http://www.protintnw.com/sa-main.htm at SourceAutomotive. It is the one RJ was referring to a couple posts back and shown on the dieselpp.com site. Also has a 4 YEAR WARAANTY (as long as you send in the card).
Once it gets here and I get it installed I'll post results.
Right now this is what I get for fuel pressure:
10.5 - idle
6.5 to 7.5 - 65mph flat road/empty truck
5.0 or less - not even WOT with TST on level 1.
Until it's installed I only plan on driving it when necessary.

Mcmopar,
Here's the info I found on NAPA's website:

P/N: NFPP74213 for $179.99....for an '01....possibly a 12mo. warranty ?
As far as specifications, I don't know.

Right, the NAPA one is an exact replacement for the stock lift pump only.
The FASS pump is a heavy duty gerotor type pump that gets mounted to the frame rail just in front of the tank, which includes wiring harness, and 3/8" hose with fittings to flow into your stock filter housing. All you would need to do for a "complete" higher flow setup is make your own line from the filter to the VP44.
The $500+ FASS eliminates your stock filter housing and flows right to the VP44. It comes with it's own filter and water separator.

The pump I'm putting on my truck is a FLojet Mod# 2100-808.
It flows 1.8 GPM and 60 psi. Now for the overvalvers...
http://www.flojet.com/prodInfoApp/se...mpanyId=FLOJET
That pump looks good. its got its own shut off switch and everything.
this pump don't have a shutoff switch but its only runs 25PSI

the "new" FASS seems like a winner to me. Substantially cheaper than the original FASS, but the same pump without the filtration. Bypass the lift pump, route to stock filter/heater/seperator and you're there.

With the reported performance of the FASS I'd think a fuel pressure gauge is something of the past. Several folks have said the gauge becomes boring because it just sits there in the 15 range.

Add bigger hose from filter to VP and it should be bulletproof.

And if you go through Rip, they can get that hose done up for you too......even with an 1/8"npt port for the now almost useless FP gauge if you keep one running.
