I run anzo quad projector lights with hid's. My old dakota had hid's in them and when I got my ram the stock halogens werent cutting it at all. My hid fog lights are brighter than my halogen high beams were.

OP -
Stay away from eBay junk … I too got sucked in, and they sucked, but looked fancy!

I have since upgraded to the sport lights, with a homemade, heavy-duty conversion harness, as well as high output bulbs. With high beams on, and i use my driving lights (4" x2 100w each) - I can barely tell the auxiliary lights are on!

There's a couple sets of instructions in the first-gen board's "sticky" about how to run your headlights off relays, and it can be done without hacking your stock wiring.

I think I would toss the conversion harness, and do the relay mod, and run all 4 bulbs on high. If a hi/low bulb will fit in them I would consider running all 4 on low as well.

DON'T RUN ALL FOUR BULBS ON LOWBEAM!
I tried this long ago as I built my harness to do this by using a 5 pin relay instead of 4 pin.
Anyway, the four bulbs put out a lot of light and it seemed great … until I hit some heavy fog, and the inner bulb was horribly aimed with lows, resulting in REDUCED visibility.

Could run a separate switch to kill the other lights when running lows that way like you said if you hit heavy fog you could just turn it off and use the normal lows. Then flip the switch on and it works with the other lights(kinda like how a plow is set up)

One thing to remember if you just run higher watt bulbs in the stock headlamps - The dash headlight switch is not designed to run anything higher than 60 watt, so make sure to add a relay if you stick in a 55/100 Hella or other aftermarket bulbs. I had the Hella 55/100s collecting dust in a box and decided to retire the 11 year old PIAA 55/60 super whites. Interestingly the 11 year old bulbs were showing their age when I removed them. I could see some "sag" in the fillament wires and etching of the support wires.

Yes but this doesn't solve the problem of the beams aimed too high. If they hinder vision in fog because they aim high, then they are likely hindering oncoming drivers too.

The sport lights have NO provisions for using the inner bulbs low beam filament. The inner reflector is designed purposefully for the high beam filament only. The outer reflector is designed for low and high beam use, with each respectful filament.
